Machine Builder / Assembler

We are an original equipment manufacturer of liquid filling machines for the paint and chemical industries. Due to expansion we are looking for an individual to assemble machinery. This is a contract to permanent position.

Duties include:

  1. Mechanical assembly of conveyors, frames and other sub assemblies

  2. Wiring of panels (training will be given as required)

  3. Complete assembly and testing of machines (on water) ready for customer checkouts.

Work experience in building and/or assembly of industrial machines or production equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Our machines are installed in the United States and internationally (countries such as Mexico, Canada, Chile, China, Malaysia, Singapore etc). After a period of training, some travel may be required to assist with setup and installation of equipment at customer sites.

Anthony Barber Associates, Ltd. (ABA) is a rapidly expanding packaging machinery manufacturer, looking for an experienced Automation Electrician /Controls Engineer. This person will support the production of liquid filling and packaging machinery.

Located in Indian Land, SC, ABA supplies packaging machinery world-wide to many of the leading paint and chemical companies.

The ideal candidate will have work related experience with: PLC's, servo controls and hardwiring of automated machinery. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication skills, work well with engineering and production staff on the installation and debugging of new systems and be able to improve and maintain existing production equipment.

  • Develop electrical and pneumatic designs and schematics in AutoCAD Electrical 

  • Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements 

  • Research supplier products for components 

  • Develop electrical bill of materials 

  • Help establish new and maintain existing standards 

  • Check work, troubleshoot, and respond to inquiries 

  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites 

  • Have familiarity with a variety of industrial and control components and systems including, but not limited to digital and analog drive systems, PLCs and Process Controllers, sensors, actuators, power supplies, and wiring devices. 

Preferred Experience 
  • Systems integration / electrical & controls experience 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude 

  • Demonstrate experience with multiple VFD’s or servo system 

  • Experience with additional software: AutoCAD, RS Logix 500, Factory Talk View studio, Studio 5000 

  • Pneumatic circuit design 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology or 5 years equivalent work experience. 

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, AB PLC’s, RSLogix Platforms, Panelview HMI’s and Servo Drive Technology. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Require minimum supervision except in areas that are of a unique aspect. 

  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues
